Newark, NJ based Prudential Insurance Co. has been an underwriter for Essex County's Annual Cherry Blossom Festival for several years. For three years, DRP was asked to transform the raw space of the New Jersey Skating Center into an upscale environment befitting New Jersey's premier annual events. As the before and after photos reflect, DERRICK ROBERTS PRODUCTIONS masterfully created distinct environments that reflected the themes of each year's gala. A non-traditional venue such as a New Jersey skating rink offers DRP's designers/producers the opportunity to work their creative environmental transformation magic most prolifically.

DRP created a space for the event utilizing a space with a full skylight and four tents. Ambient, decorative lighting was supplied for the spaces. In addition, 5 video trees with various size plasma monitors were provided to show various FOX programs. These monitors were attached to free standing 10' truss lowers and placed in the 40'x80'x75' tents which also included four 9'x12' video screens. This was a cooperative presentation.

"We want our works to be elegant, expressive, to exude life and have feelings... everything that dignifies life", (Juan, Jose and Vincente Lladro; the Lladro brothers).

This is the premise on which the world renowned company known for their ancient tradition of porcelain design and production was founded. Lladro marked a corporate milestone by introducing its "ReCyclos" project transformation of their Christmas ornaments into dream like objects. Lladro called upon DRP to transform both their Manhattan and Beverly Hills flagship stores' environments to reflect the sentiment and feel of this momentous event based on the concept of "Renewal". DRP was asked to transform both stores, visually and artistically, by creating and installing "one off" pieces configured by using pieces of the brand's porcelains. At the project's core, DRP introduced elements into both stores which created inviting spaces and offered the customers ability to take a new look at the Lladro environment and work.
